Over $250,000 found inside care
HARLINGEN - U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) special agents continue to work leads to locate and arrest the person or persons responsible for concealing approximately $276,880.00 in U.S. currency inside a Honda truck.
On July 4, a DPS Trooper in Raymondville initiated a vehicle traffic stop along U.S. Highway 77. According to DPS, a consent search of the vehicle revealed the money hidden inside the pick-up truck. The driver was questioned but was not charged.
ICE has launched an investigation into bulk cash smuggling. The investigation into this case is ongoing.
