Honduran pleads guilty to raping women over 60

WELLINGTON, Texas — A 42-year-old Honduran national has pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated sexual assault of an elderly woman and was sentenced to life in prison.

Jose Ayala Nunez entered his plea to the first-degree felonies Thursday. Along with the life in prison, Nunez got another 10 years stacked onto his sentence, according to a news release.

He faced charges stemming from the rapes of three women older than 60 in March and April.

Authorities have said Nunez is in the country illegally.

None of the women were hospitalized after the attacks, authorities said.

Wellington is 92 miles southeast of Amarillo.
